Michael C. McChesney
Michael McChesney, founder and Chairman of StarPound Technologies, brings more than 20 years of experience in technology and venture capital investing. He is a founding partner of Five Paces Ventures and has been the founder or Chairman of four successful Internet-based technology companies: SecureWare,Inc., Technologics Inc., S1 Corporation and WebTone Technologies, Inc.
Mr. McChesney founded his first company, SecureWare, Inc., in 1986. SecureWare developed software and encryption technology for securing Unix-based operating systems, and was sold to Hewlett Packard in 1994. In 1995, Mr. McChesney co-founded S1 Corporation, one of the top IPO's of 1996. Today, S1 Corporation is a leading global provider to more than 4,000 banks, credit unions and insurance providers of enterprise software solutions (NASDAQ: SONE). In 1998, Mr. McChesney founded WebTone Technologies, a leading provider of Internet-enabled customer service and support solutions, which was sold to Fidelity National in 2003. Michael is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and holds an MBA from the Wharton school of business.
Noro-Moseley Partners
Founded in 1983, Atlanta-based Noro-Moseley Partners (NMP) is one of the largest and most experienced venture capital firms in the southeastern United States. NMP has created five limited partnership funds totaling approximately $580 million in capital and has invested in approximately 160 companies. NMP invests primarily in Southeastern-based, early and established growth stage companies. Industries of interest include technology, healthcare and business services.
Tripp Rackley
Chief Executive Officer, Firethorn, A Qualcomm Company
Recognized as one of the top three innovators in financial services today by Bank Technology News, Tripp Rackley has served as Chief Executive Officer of Firethorn, a Qualcomm company, since its founding in 2002. He has been a financial services innovator since 1995 when he founded nFront Inc., an online banking services provider that was ultimately sold to Digital Insight, an Intuit company, in 2000. Mr. Rackley served as Vice Chairman of Digital Insight until 2002 when he became entrepreneur-in-residence at Noro-Moseley Partners, where he helped shape the future of many financial services technology companies.
Tripp Rackley sets and directs Firethorn's strategic vision and mission as a premier mobile commerce enabler. He serves as a driving force behind the technology that powers the Firethorn solution and plays a pivotal role in securing and maintaining strategic partnerships with financial institutions, financial content providers and wireless carriers delivering Firethorn's solution to the marketplace.
Rackley earned an engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1992 and was named the Ernst & Young 2000 Regional Entrepreneur of the Year. Rackley serves on the Board for the Alexander Tharpe Foundation for his alma mater Georgia Tech, is a member of the Georgia Tech Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) Advisory Board and was inducted into the Georgia Tech Engineering Hall of Fame.
