Michael C. McChesney

Founder, Chairman, & CEO

I founded StarPound with the belief that there are enormous opportunities for leveraging convergence, business process management, and technology in the modern enterprise. We have assembled a fantastic team that is chasing this dream. It is an incredible joy to see it coming to life.

Michael McChesney, founder and Chairman, brings more than 20 years of experience in technology and venture capital investing. He is a founding partner of Five Paces Ventures and has been the founder or Chairman of four successful Internet-based technology companies: SecureWare,Inc., Technologics Inc., S1 Corporation and WebTone Technologies, Inc.

Mr. McChesney founded his first company, SecureWare, Inc., in 1986. SecureWare developed software and encryption technology for securing Unix-based operating systems, and was sold to Hewlett Packard in 1994. In 1995, Mr. McChesney co-founded S1 Corporation, one of the top IPO's of 1996. Today, S1 Corporation is a leading global provider to more than 4,000 banks, credit unions and insurance providers of enterprise software solutions (NASDAQ: SONE). In 1998, Mr. McChesney founded WebTone Technologies, a leading provider of Internet-enabled customer service and support solutions, which was sold to Fidelity National in 2003.

Michael is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and holds an MBA from the Wharton school of business.

Scott Burkett

Chief Operating Officer

When Michael McChesney approached me about joining the StarPound team, I jumped at the chance. We are pushing the edge of current technology, and building something that we believe will fundamentally change the landscape of process integration and human interaction.

Scott brings nearly 20 years of broad technology and entrepreneurial experience to the StarPound team. In his most recent position as interim-CEO, and later CEO/Chairman of PlayMotion, Inc., Mr. Burkett achieved record revenues in 2007 and grew the business by 86%. Under his leadership, PlayMotion secured new business and strategic relationships with Walt Disney, Cartoon Network, NASCAR, Bravo TV, Sanofi Aventis, SEGA, and AMC Theaters. During his tenure, PlayMotion earned a Top 10 Innovative Company award from the Technology Association of Georgia.

Prior to PlayMotion, Scott founded Incursio, Inc., an early-stage software holding company. After exits from six different properties, he co-founded StartupLounge.com, a non-profit organization aimed at promoting fast-growth entrepreneurship in underserved regions.

Mr. Burkett holds a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems from Thomas A. Edison State College, and is a veteran of the U.S. Army's Third Infantry Division. Mr. Burkett is an advisor to more early-stage companies than he cares to admit.

He maintains a blog at scottburkett.com, where he writes very actively on technology, venture capital, early-stage entrepreneurship, and the Atlanta startup scene.
