Overview

The StarPound CORE™ is a model-driven application development and delivery platform for multi-channel applications. StarPound brings together a diverse set of application functions in one development environment. StarPound applications integrate:

  • Business process workflow with skills-based routing and end-to-end task management
  • Web collaboration (chat, click-to-talk, click-to-callback, and page sharing)
  • Telephony (receiving, initiating, and managing calls)
  • Interactive Voice Response (IVR) menus with speech recognition and text-to-speech
  • Data management through web services and relational databases
  • Web forms
  • Incoming and outgoing email and fax

The StarPound Open-Source Stack

StarPound applications are converged and composite by design, so no complex middleware integration is required. And StarPound is built on open source technologies like Linux, Asterisk, and JBoss, which can run on inexpensive commodity hardware. But inexpensive doesn't mean low performance - the StarPound architecture can be implemented in a large-scale robust configuration for optimum performance.

The StarPound CORE™ Platform is a powerful and free Open Source engine for developing Enterprise 2.0 voice and data applications. Use its Eclipse-based visual modeling tool to integrate business processes with voice and data. Then use StarPound CORE™'s open-source J2EE application server to deploy and run these applications.

And if you're using .NET or some other platform, no worries. StarPound CORE™ is fully SOA based.

StarPound Studio runs on a wide variety of hardware and is supported by The StarPound Project and its chief commercial sponsor, StarPound Technologies.
